Application: 

• Proper surface preparation is critical to the application of the Cantera™ Vertical Wall Mix. Vertical Wall Mix can be applied over a variety of surfaces. Ensuring a good bond will require a combination of grinding, patching, taping, and fastening of wire mesh. A base scratch coat of T1000 Sprayable Fine Overlay is recommended prior to applying the vertical wall mix.
  

• Mix one gallon (3.8L) of water with one gal. of T1000™ Primer. Apply an even coat to the surface using a paint roller, soft broom, or sprayer. Once the primer has dried to a tack-free state, installation should begin.

• Add 2.0 gallons (8.5L) of water to a 5 gallon (18.9L) bucket and then mix in the 35 lb (15.9kg) bag of vertical wall mix. Continue to mix for approximately 3 minutes or until a lump free mixture has been achieved.

• Apply the material to the wall using a pool trowel and hawk working with a vertical, bottom to top, stroke. Do not overwork the surface or hard trowel vertical wall mix. Material should not be applied thicker than 1” (25.4mm) in a single application. If material sags, reduce water content of the mix.

• The working time of the vertical wall mix is up to 1 hour depending on conditions. Once the material will take a clean impression, apply liquid release to the wall using a sprayer. Position and apply pressure to the stamp. Take care to ensure the stamp does not slide. Remove any blemishes using a texture roller or hand carving tool.

• Control joints should be saw cut within 14 hours of application. Once the Cantera™ Vertical Wall Mix has cured for 7 days Acid or Water Based Concrete Stain can be applied to achieve the desired color variations. Sealer is not required for Cantera™ Vertical wall mix.
