Product Detail:

Stainless Steel door chime cover, with Palm Trees detail.
Includes stainless steel cover, doorchime unit, and optional LED back lighting bar ($15 extra).
Doorchime unit makes a standard 'ding-dong' sound. It has a front and rear doorbell button connections, and plays a different sound for each.
Designed for use with a 16 volt transformer (sold separately).
Easy to paint if desired, using spray cans available at your local home improvement center. Simply clean the stainless steel cover to remove any dirt or grease, apply a few light coats of Metal Primer, and then when dry, apply a few light coats of the desired color spray paint.
This Stainless Steel Cover can be used to replace many existing door chime units. Please see pictures below, and if your chime looks like the one pictured, this cover will most likely replace your current plastic cover (so no need to take your current door chime off the wall, just slip this cover over it).
PLEASE NOTE: If ordering the optional LED back lighting, for constant illumination, the LED bar included must be wired directly back to the transformer. If you wire the LED bar to the doorchime unit itself, it will only light up when the doorbell button is pushed!

door chime itself is OK, but the "add-on" lighting kit is pathetic! An LED strip with about 6 lights is an excellent idea, but using a clear mastic and strapping them on with a rubber band won't cut it. I ordered 2 and both fell off as soon as you begin handling the chime assembly. A bit more thought should go into this....POOR DESIGN! (but they do look good after I finally got the lights re-attached)
